前明護根，次明離塵，自下第三總結彰益，先明所成成護根戒，後明所離離於根漏。於中初先舉凡顯聖，「菩薩永」下辨聖異凡，下明佛無。

The preceding clarified guarding the sense faculties; next it clarified separating from sense objects. From here on, the third [part] summarizes and displays the benefits: first it clarifies what is accomplished—accomplishing the precepts of guarding the sense faculties; afterwards it clarifies what is abandoned—abandoning the outflows of the sense faculties. In this, first it brings up the ordinary to reveal the noble; from 'bodhisattvas eternally...' below, it distinguishes the noble as different from the ordinary; below, it clarifies that the Buddha is devoid of them.
