第五句中，「若使爾時是涅槃者」重審如來，「云何」以下徵已顯非，斷煩惱時已是涅槃，「云何方為拘尸力士說言後夜當般涅槃」。

In the fifth sentence: "If at that time it was nirvāṇa" questions the Tathāgata again; from "how..." onward, it questions to reveal the error: if it was already nirvāṇa when defilements were severed, "how could he then say to the Mallas of Kuśinagara that in the final watch of the night he would enter parinirvāṇa?"
