答後句中，初先定其涅槃名義是不非斷，「斷煩惱者不名」已下依名顯法。前中文有十一復次，初七後四，如來自解第八一番，取他所說證成不義。然此文中涅定名不，初句中辯，餘更不論；槃含多義，句句皆異。

In answering the latter clause, he first defines the nominal meaning of nirvāṇa as 'non-' and not 'severance'; from 'one who severs afflictions is not called' onwards, he reveals the dharma according to the name. In the former part, the text has eleven restatements: seven first and four later; the Tathāgata explains the eighth turn himself, taking what others have stated to verify and establish the meaning of 'non-'. However, in this text, nie is definitely named 'non-', which is explained in the first clause and not discussed further; pan encompasses many meanings, differing in each clause.
