四別顯陰相，約智顯之。先明色陰，色中初先明其非有，「為世說」下彰其非無。明非有中，「雖見色陰，不見其相」略明非有。辯有兼無，是以言「雖」。「何以」下釋，「於十色中求性不得」故不見相，五根、五塵是其十色。此經上下多說十色，不論無作，當以無作色相微隱成身不顯，故不說之。

Fourth, individually revealing the characteristics of the aggregates, revealing them in terms of wisdom. First, it clarifies the aggregate of form (rūpa); within form, it first clarifies its non-existence, and from 'explaining for the world' onwards reveals its non-nothingness. In clarifying its non-existence, 'although seeing the aggregate of form, one does not see its characteristics' briefly clarifies its non-existence. Differentiating existence while encompassing non-existence, it therefore says 'although'. From 'why' onwards explains: because 'seeking its nature among the ten forms cannot be obtained', one does not see characteristics; the five faculties and the five sense-objects are the ten forms. Throughout this sūtra it mostly speaks of ten forms and does not discuss unmanifest form (avijñapti-rūpa), which must be because the characteristics of unmanifest form are subtle and hidden, not apparent in constituting the body, and therefore it is not discussed.
