「云何」下釋，但釋初門，餘三類上到、不到等其義可知，故略不論。於中有三：一就涅槃解不聞聞、二「云何菩薩不聞聞」下就彼三寶佛性等義解不聞聞、三「如佛先說修大涅槃聞不聞中有涅槃」下於前義中有難解者問答重明。

From "how?" downward explains [them]. He only explains the first approach; the remaining three are analogous to the "reaching and not reaching" above, and their meaning can be understood, so they are omitted and not discussed. Therein there are three [parts]: first, explaining "not hearing what is heard" in terms of nirvāṇa; second, from "how does a bodhisattva not hear what is heard?" downward, explaining "not hearing what is heard" in terms of the meanings of the Three Jewels, buddha-nature, and so forth; third, from "as the Buddha previously stated, when cultivating the great nirvāṇa, within hearing what is not heard there is nirvāṇa" downward, questioning and answering to clarify again points among the preceding meanings that are difficult to understand.
