第三迦葉乘言難佛，三世善中未來不斷云何言無？初言「眾生有三種善」汎爾通舉。「過未現在」列言三名。「闡提不能斷未來善，云何說斷」就之結難。

Third, Kāśyapa takes advantage of these words to challenge the Buddha: "Among the goods of the three times, the future is not severed; how can you say there are none?" The opening statement, "Sentient beings have three kinds of good," is a general, comprehensive mention. "Past, future, and present" lists the three names. "An icchantika cannot sever future good; how can you say it is severed?" concludes the challenge based on them.
