四以聖人猶有煩惱業苦不盡，明無聖人。於中，先明聖有煩惱，聖人受樂明有貪也，亦罵辱等明有瞋也。復有嫉妬及憍慢等，「受於苦樂」明聖有苦，「作善惡等」明聖有業，「是因緣」下結無聖人，「若有道」下難無聖道。

Fourth, because noble persons still have defilements, karma, and suffering that are not exhausted, it clarifies that there are no noble persons. Therein, it first clarifies that the noble have defilements: noble persons experiencing pleasure clarifies that they have greed; their also reviling and insulting, and so forth, clarifies that they have anger; they also have jealousy, pride, and so forth. "Experiencing suffering and pleasure" clarifies that the noble have suffering; "performing good and evil, and so forth" clarifies that the noble have karma; from "By this causal condition" onward, it concludes that there are no noble persons; from "If there were a path" onward, it challenges that there is no noble path.
