Fifth, the nature of the path is full of pity, so it should not depend on people cultivating and practicing it before being attained; depending on cultivation to be attained clarifies that there is no noble path. Therein are five [points]: first, clarifying that the dharma of noble persons has much pity; second, from "Why" onward, clarifying that pity stems from the path; third, from "If the nature of the path is pity" onward, challenging and refuting the need for cultivation; fourth, from "If it lacks it" onward, challenging that the path is not pity; fifth, concluding that there is no noble path. This is the fifth.
