上來辨喻，下約顯性。前四段中，約初顯之。先破定執，是乳有酪名為執著，是乳無酪名虛妄故。「如來經中說定有性是名執著，無名虛妄」。下顯正義，「應說佛性亦有亦無」。

The preceding explains the analogy; below it reveals the nature in reference to it. Among the preceding four sections, it is revealed with reference to the first. It first refutes definite attachments, because [holding that] this milk has curd is called attachment, and [holding that] this milk lacks curd is called false. "When the Tathāgata in the sūtras says that there is definitely a nature, this is called attachment; non-existence is called false." Below, it reveals the correct meaning: "One should say that the buddha-nature is also existent and also non-existent."
