From here below is the fourth [part], reiterating the admonition to abandon attachment. "If one understands the meaning of these four propositions, one should not object that it is definitely present or definitely absent" directly encourages abandoning attachment. "If one says that sentient beings all have the nature..." and so forth cites the Buddha's exclusive knowledge to block their one-sided attachment. "The Tathāgata in this way speaks according to his own intention..." and so forth takes up the Buddha's exclusive knowledge to reprove their one-sided attachment. When these four meanings are fully present, "how could sentient beings adopt a single-sided interpretation?" In the extensive explanation there are two [sections]: first, explaining the nature with reference to persons; second, from "these seven persons do not cultivate the body, moral discipline, mind, or wisdom" onward, admonishing and encouraging the abandonment of attachment. In the first there are three [subsections]: first, adducing the characteristics of the simile to reveal the Dharma according to them; second, from "just as the seven kinds of sentient beings in the Ganges River do not leave the water" onward, analyzing the purport of the simile to reveal the Dharma according to it; third, from "Kāśyapa said: If there is a cause, then there is a fruit" onward, asking and answering again regarding difficult points among the preceding meanings to clarify them further.
