In the preceding expedient means, it first contemplates non-self with respect to the body; from 'again generating this thought: or consciousness is [the self]' downward, it contemplates non-self with respect to mindfulness of the mind; from 'if consciousness is not [the self]' downward, it contemplates non-self with respect to mindfulness of feelings. It omits mindfulness of dharmas, precisely because herein, contemplating non-self with respect to body, feelings, and mind is itself the contemplation of mindfulness of dharmas of general marks; therefore, it does not discuss dharmas [separately].
