12.25

「復次善男子」去，第四勸立丈夫志，為二：先勸、次領解。初又二：先毀訾女身、次定判男子。初訶毀，如文。「何以故」下，定判也。經判出兩句，若廣明應有四句（云云）。

From "Furthermore, good sons" onward, the fourth [section] encourages establishing the resolve of a great man, in two [parts]: first, the encouragement; next, the acceptance with understanding. The first again has two: first, reviling the female body; next, determining the male. First, the rebuke is as in the text. From "Why is this?" onward is the determination. The sūtra determines and produces two propositions; if explained extensively, there should be four propositions (and so forth).
