17.22

「汝上所言」下，第三答其罵難，亦為三：牒問、正釋、結會。初如文。次釋中引昔七事為證，又為二：初總略述意、次「如我一時」下別舉七事。「我於爾時」下，三結會所問。

From "Regarding what you said above" onward is third, answering his objection about scolding, which also has three parts: repeating the question, the explanation proper, and concluding harmonization. The first is as in the text. In the next explanation, seven past occurrences are cited as evidence, which is also divided into two: first, generally and briefly expressing the intention; next, from "Just as I at one time" onward, separately adducing the seven occurrences. From "I at that time" onward is third, concluding and harmonizing what was questioned.
