第三、太原宗師翻解脫。彼云：涅槃者，累盡之通名，萬善之號。涅槃是天竺之音，此正言解脫，如經說也。乃至開善等，翻為無累也。

Third, Master Zong of Taiyuan translated it as “liberation” (jietuo). He said: “Nirvāṇa is the general name for the exhaustion of defilements, the designation of myriad goods. Nirvāṇa is the sound of India; here it properly means liberation, as spoken in the sūtras.” Down to Kaishan and others, they translated it as “absence of defilement” (wulei).
