1.24

然此可有三道開覆：一、以凡覆聖，以聖開凡。二者、凡聖是實，覆涅槃凡聖方便。今明凡聖有無，並是涅槃妙用，名之為開。三者、凡聖覆非凡聖方便，今始得顯涅槃非聖非凡，凡聖具足名之為開。

However, here there can be three ways of revealing and concealing: First, concealing the noble by means of the ordinary, and revealing the ordinary by means of the noble. Second, ordinary and noble being considered real conceals the skillful means of ordinary and noble in nirvāṇa; now, clarifying that the existence and nonexistence of ordinary and noble are both the subtle function of nirvāṇa is called revealing. Third, ordinary and noble concealing the skillful means of neither ordinary nor noble; only now can it be revealed that nirvāṇa is neither noble nor ordinary, and that ordinary and noble are fully complete, which is called revealing.
