1.61

今一家明只宗是體，豈異體別有宗？大師云：今解釋此，茲國所無。汝何處得此義耶？云稟關河，傳於攝領，攝領得大乘之正意者。若是諸師皆悉推片，不熟看經論，妄引候文，失於圓旨。

Now our tradition clarifies that the central tenet is precisely the essence; how could there be a separate central tenet distinct from the essence? The Great Master said: "Now in explaining this, it does not exist in this country. Where did you obtain this meaning?" He replied: "It was received from Guanhe, transmitted to Sheling; Sheling attained the correct intent of the Mahāyāna." Other masters all make partial deductions; not reading the sūtras and treatises thoroughly, they falsely cite superficial passages and lose the complete tenet.
