此四師並云涅槃不可翻。彼明不可翻有文有義：義者，涅槃是圓德，圓德立圓名，故不可一名翻；二者有文者，三點成涅槃，故不可一名翻也。

These four masters all say that nirvāṇa cannot be translated. Their explanation that it cannot be translated has both textual and doctrinal bases: doctrinally, nirvāṇa is consummate virtue, and consummate virtue establishes a consummate name, so it cannot be translated by a single name; second, textually, three dots constitute nirvāṇa, so it cannot be translated by a single name.
