贊曰：此第三段二眾犯戒悔淨往生，即是第三下品生也。於中有三：一悔歸罪滅修行往生、二見得不退、三未來值佛。初中有三：一罪滅。罪滅有二：一者先受戒禁而後犯之、二者先不受戒造眾惡業。聞名歸禮，兩手二足及以頭首五體投地至誠懺悔，罪速清淨。

The Commentary says: This third section, where the two assemblies who have broken precepts repent and attain purity to be reborn, is the third, lower grade of rebirth. Within this there are three parts: first, repenting and taking refuge so that transgressions are extinguished, and cultivating practices to attain rebirth; second, seeing [him] and obtaining non-retrogression; third, meeting Buddhas in future ages. In the first, there are three points: first, the extinguishing of transgressions. Extinguishing of transgressions is twofold: first, having previously received the prohibitive precepts and then violated them; second, not having previously received precepts and having committed various evil deeds. Hearing the name, taking refuge and bowing down, casting the five points of the body—the two hands, two feet, and head—to the ground and repenting with utmost sincerity, their transgressions will swiftly be purified.
