The commentary says: Sixth, the benefit of expounding the Dharma. In this there are three [parts]: first, stating what is expounded; second, explaining the benefit; third, showing the constant occupation. This is the first [part]. 'Each sits upon a flower seat' symbolizes that the assemblies of bodhisattvas all emerge from the mire of birth and death. Three [periods] of the day and three of the night are called the six periods. When the Buddha abides in the six periods, he constantly gives rise to the six supernatural faculties, constantly expounds the practice of the six perfections, plucks out beings from the six destinies, crushes the six latent defilements, and transcends the six sense objects.
