The Commentary says: Fourth is meeting the Buddhas of the Constellation Kalpa. In the Hīnayāna it is taught: during the first aeon one meets seventy-five thousand [Buddhas], during the second aeon one meets seventy-six thousand, and during the third aeon one meets seventy-seven thousand Buddhas. According to fascicle six of the Nirvāṇa Sūtra, among the practices of the four reliances: the first reliance is before the grounds, where one meets Buddhas equal [in number] to the sands of five Ganges rivers; the second reliance is on the first six grounds, where one meets Buddhas equal to the sands of six Ganges rivers; the third reliance is on the seventh, eighth, and ninth grounds, where one meets Buddhas equal to the sands of seven Ganges rivers; and the fourth reliance is on the tenth ground, where one meets Buddhas equal to the sands of eight Ganges rivers. A bodhisattva of the first ground meets ten billion Buddhas, on the second ground one hundred billion, up to the tenth ground where they are immeasurable and boundless. Therefore, those born there, through seeing Maitreya, are able to meet the thousand Buddhas of the Constellation Kalpa—what doubt could there be about this? As for 'receive the prophecy of bodhi', this clause applies also to the above; the Buddhas of the Bhadrakalpa will also bestow prophecies upon them. Prophecy is of six kinds, as explained in the 'Bodhisattvabhūmi'.
