Question: At that time, is it eaten raw or eaten cooked? Answer: The twenty-first fascicle of the *Dīrgha Āgama* states, "The naturally growing non-glutinous rice has no chaff or husk, and without being cooked or seasoned, those sentient beings just take and eat it"; thus we know it is eaten raw. As for "the so-called gold, silver," etc., the textual intention means: when this sūtra was spoken, the assembly heard of naturally growing non-glutinous rice and wondered whether the seven treasures were also natural or not, and therefore the Buddha's intention in speaking was that the seven treasures are also natural.
