經曰「應從右脇」以下，第二出胎相。《菩薩處胎經》云「我從右脇生，汝彌勒從頂上生」者，蓋隨機說不定。又云：約實彌勒從脇生，而歎尊勝故，具云頂生也。

From the sūtra's words 'He shall [emerge] from the right flank' onward, this is the second aspect, emerging from the womb. The Bodhisattva in the Womb Sūtra says: 'I was born from the right flank; you, Maitreya, will be born from the crown of the head.' This was presumably spoken variably in accordance with the capacities [of beings]. Another explanation says: in reality Maitreya is born from the flank, but in order to praise his preeminence, it is fully stated that he was born from the crown.
