經曰「佛」者，第三別顯教主。梵音云佛陀，此云覺者，謂具得二智、永斷二障，於諸境界自開悟故。《佛地論》云「梵云薄伽梵，謂以此一名總表眾德故。」

The sūtra stating 'Buddha' is the third [phrase], specifically revealing the master of the teaching. The Sanskrit pronunciation is buddha, translated here as 'awakened one', meaning one who fully possesses the two wisdoms, has permanently severed the two obscurations, and has awakened by himself regarding all realms of objects. The Buddhabhūmyupadeśa states: 'The Sanskrit says bhagavat, which by this single name comprehensively expresses all virtues.'
