經曰「須達長者」以下，第二列在家眾。優婆塞者訛，今云鄔婆索迦。此云鄔婆者近也，迦者事也，素者男聲也。優婆塞，此云清信男者訛也。毘舍佉者，此云黑鹿，謂因兒得號。母者女聲。優婆夷，此云淨信女，此亦訛，今云鄔婆私迦，此云近事也。

From the sūtra's statement, 'The elder Sudatta...' onward is the second part: listing the lay assembly. 'Upāsaka' (Youposai) is an error; it is now rendered upāsaka (wuposuojia). Here, upa means 'near', ka means 'service', and so is the masculine ending. The translation of upāsaka as 'purely faithful layman' is an error. 'Viśākhā' is rendered here as 'black deer', meaning she obtained her name on account of her son. 'Mother' is the feminine ending. 'Upāsikā' (Youpoyi) is rendered here as 'purely faithful laywoman', which is also an error; it is now rendered upāsikā (wuposijia), meaning 'female close attendant'.
