1.88

問：天有神者，便應天中有餘道邪？答：亦有無失。謂《華嚴經》云「人生法有二天守護，一名同名、二名同生。天得見人，人不見天。」天既通，所餘道中類可通也。既五道中各有五道，五五二十五道也。

Question: Since there are spirits in the heavens, does that mean there are other destinies within the heavens? Answer: There is also no fault [in holding this]. The Avataṃsaka Sūtra says: "When a person is born, by Dharma there are two devas that protect them: one named Same-Name, and the second named Same-Born. The devas are able to see the person, but the person cannot see the devas." Since this applies to devas, by analogy it can apply to the remaining destinies as well. Since there are five destinies within each of the five destinies, there are five times five, or twenty-five destinies.
