肇曰：有亦不由緣、無亦不由緣，以法非有無，故由因緣生。論曰：法從緣故不有，緣起故不無。
[Seng]zhao says: Existence does not derive from conditions, nor does non-existence derive from conditions; because dharmas are neither existent nor non-existent, they arise through causes and conditions. The treatise says: 'Because dharmas arise from conditions, they do not exist; because of conditioned arising, they are not non-existent.'
