佛言：善哉寶積！乃能為諸菩薩問於如來淨土之行。諦聽諦聽，善思念之，當為汝說。於是是寶積及五百長者子受教而聽。佛言：寶積！眾生之類是菩薩佛土。

The Buddha said: "Excellent, Ratnakūṭa! That you are able to inquire of the Tathāgata on behalf of the bodhisattvas concerning the practice of the pure land. Listen closely, listen closely, and ponder it well; I shall expound it for you." Thereupon Ratnakūṭa and the five hundred elders' sons received the instruction and listened. The Buddha said: "Ratnakūṭa! The categories of sentient beings are the bodhisattva's buddha-land.
