肇曰：師子吼，無畏音也。凡所言說，不畏群邪異學，諭師子吼，眾獸下之。師子吼，曰美演法也。

[Seng]zhao says: The lion's roar is the fearless voice. Whatever they speak, they have no fear of the heterodox gatherings or deviant doctrines, comparable to the lion's roar beneath which all beasts submit. The lion's roar is a praise of expounding the Dharma.
