肇曰：方便者，巧便慧也。積小德而獲大功，功雖就而不證。處有不乖寂、居無不失化，無為而無所不為，方便無礙也。

[Seng]zhao says: Upāya is skillful wisdom. Accumulating small virtues yet obtaining great results; though results are achieved, one does not become fixated on realization. Dwelling in existence without conflicting with quiescence; abiding in non-existence without neglecting transformation; doing nothing yet leaving nothing undone—this is unimpeded upāya.
