什曰：梵本云「眾不能蓋」。眾不能蓋，明其超出。今言蓋眾，其言亦同也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: The Sanskrit text says, "The assemblies cannot eclipse them." That the assemblies cannot eclipse them clarifies that they excel them. The present rendering, "surpass the assemblies," has the same meaning.
