什曰：會而成知，非真知也。求知不得，同瓦礫也。肇曰：身雖能觸而無知，內識能知而無觸。自性而求，二俱無知。既曰無知，何異瓦礫。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Combining to produce awareness, it is not true awareness. Searching for awareness, it cannot be found, identical to tiles and rubble. [Seng]zhao says: Although the body can touch, it lacks awareness; internal consciousness can know, yet lacks tactile contact. Searching their intrinsic nature, both alike are devoid of awareness. Since it is said to be devoid of awareness, how does it differ from tiles and rubble?
