[Seng]zhao says: 'Various views' refers to the sixty-two false views. One who takes views to be views must move to abandon the views in order to cultivate the factors of the Way. The mahāsattva contemplates the true nature of all views as being themselves the factors of the Way; therefore he does not abandon views nearby to cultivate the factors of the Way afar.
[Dao]sheng says: In gathering thoughts, the essential point is to attain their Way. What is that Way? It lies in correct contemplation. Correct contemplation is the thirty-seven factors. Contemplating the thirty-seven factors is the mind perceiving the principle; because one perceives in accordance with the principle, the mind can abide. If one prizes contemplation and attains the principle, one is again deluded by contemplation and thereby loses the principle, which is not the means of contemplation. If being unmoved by the various views is itself practicing the thirty-seven factors, then one does not see the thirty-seven factors as different from the various views, and there is no longer any delusion. 'Unmoved' means not rejecting them. 'Various views' means wrong views.
