什曰：此品序淨名德者，非集經者之意。其方便辯才，世尊常所稱歎，故集經者承其所聞以序德耳。

[Kumāra]jīva says: That this chapter prefaces the virtues of Pure Name was not the intention of the compiler of the sūtra. His upāya and eloquence were always praised by the World-Honoured One, so the compiler of the sūtra, relying on what he had heard, merely prefaced his virtues.
