肇曰：婆羅門，秦言外意。其種別有經書，世世相承以道學為業。或在家或出家苦行，多恃已道術自我慢人也。

[Seng]zhao says: Brahmin, in the language of Qin, means 'clearing the mind.' Their lineage has its own scriptures, and from generation to generation they take study of the Way as their occupation. Some remain at home while others go forth into ascetic practice; they mostly rely on their own arts and ways to be arrogant toward others.
