肇曰：淨名將開其宿心成其本意，故以定力令諸比丘暫識宿命，自知曾於五百佛所殖眾德本，曾以迴此功德向無上道。此其本也。

[Seng]zhao says: Pure Name, about to open his past resolve and bring about his original intention, therefore used his power of samādhi to cause the monks temporarily to recognize their past lives, knowing themselves to have planted roots of many virtues in the presence of five hundred buddhas and to have dedicated these merits toward the unexcelled path. This was their foundation.
