什曰：奉律，梵本云毘尼。毘尼，秦言善治。謂自治婬怒癡亦能治眾生惡也。生曰：作如此知，無復犯律之咎也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: "'Upholding the Vinaya': the Sanskrit text says 'Vinaya'. Vinaya means in the language of Qin 'good discipline/ordering' (shan zhi). It means disciplining one's own lust, anger, and delusion, and also being able to cure the evils of sentient beings." [Dao]sheng says: "Having such knowledge, there is no longer any fault of violating the Vinaya."
