3.287

什曰：雖為白衣，能發無上心者，便為出家具足戒行矣。生曰：出家本欲離惡行道。若在家而能發意，即是足矣，亦為具足其道者也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: “Although one is a layperson in white robes, if one can bring forth the unexcelled resolve, that is already going forth and having the complete precepts and practice.” [Dao]sheng says: “Going forth originally intended to abandon evil and practice the Way. If, while in the household, one can bring forth this resolve, that is sufficient, and one also has completed that Way.”
