說是法時，五百天人皆發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。故我不任詣彼問疾。佛告持世菩薩：汝行詣維摩詰問疾。持世白佛言：世尊！我不堪任詣彼問疾。所以者何？憶念我昔住於靜室，時魔波旬。

When this Dharma was expounded, five hundred devas and humans all gave rise to the aspiration for anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi. "Therefore, I am not competent to go there and inquire after his illness." The Buddha said to the Bodhisattva Dharadhara: "Go to Vimalakīrti and inquire after his illness."
