4.260

什曰：財施不能一時周則有前後，若法施之會一時普至。若一起慈心則十方同緣。施中之等莫先於此，故曰無前後也。

[Kumāra]jīva says: Material giving cannot be complete all at once, so it has before and after; an assembly of the giving of Dharma reaches universally all at once. If one arouses a single mind of loving-kindness, it takes the ten directions as its object simultaneously. Among kinds of giving, nothing surpasses this in equality; therefore it is said to have no before and no after.
