什曰：施佛以地勝故心濃，施貧以地苦故悲深，是以福田同相、致報一也。
[Kumāra]jīva says: Giving to the Buddha is deep in devotion because the recipient is supreme; giving to the poor is profound in compassion because the recipient suffers. Therefore the fields of merit have the same mark, and bring about the same reward.
