6.52

肇曰：截人手足、離人妻子、強索國財，生其憂悲，雖有目前小苦，而致永劫大安。是由深觀人根、輕重相權，見近不及遠者非其所能為也。

[Seng]zhao says: Cutting off a person's hands and feet, separating a person's wife and children, and forcefully demanding state wealth produce their grief and sorrow; although there is a small suffering before their eyes, it brings about great peace for eternal eons. This arises from deeply contemplating people's faculties and weighing the light and the heavy; those who see what is near and do not reach what is distant are incapable of doing this.
