時維摩詰知其意而語言：佛說八解脫，仁者受行，豈雜欲食而聞法乎。

At that time Vimalakīrti knew his thought and said to him: "The Buddha taught the eight liberations, which you, good sir, have accepted and practiced. Can you listen to the Dharma mixed with the desire to eat?"
