"The monk Candracchatra, through his diligent vigor in protecting the Dharma, in that very lifetime transformed a million billion people so that they were established in non-retrogression toward anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi; fourteen nayutas of people deeply aroused the aspiration for the śrāvaka and pratyekabuddha [vehicles]; and immeasurable sentient beings attained rebirth in the heavens. Lord of the Devas! Could King Ratnacchatra at that time have been someone else? He has now attained buddhahood, named Ratnārcis Tathāgata. The thousand sons of that king are none other than the thousand buddhas of the Fortunate Kalpa: beginning with Krakucchanda attaining buddhahood, down to the final Tathāgata named Ruci. The monk Candracchatra was my very self. Thus, Lord of the Devas, you should know this essential point: the offering of the Dharma is, among all offerings, the highest, the supreme, foremost and peerless."
