[Seng]zhao says: "Because he was ashamed and bewildered, the voice in the air stopped him: 'As the upāsaka said, how could an undefiled substance suffer worldly afflictions? It is solely to save the sentient beings of the five turbidities that he manifests this illness; fetch the milk and do not be ashamed.' The five turbidities are: the turbidity of the kalpa, the turbidity of sentient beings, the turbidity of afflictions, the turbidity of views, and the turbidity of lifespan." [Dao]sheng says: "The feeling of shame ought to give way to what must be done; therefore he was told to fetch the milk and not feel ashamed."
