[Kumāra]jīva says: This [ordinarily] abandons the dharmas of sentient beings. One should give rise to emptiness for the sake of transforming sentient beings. [Seng]zhao says: Preserving sentient beings contradicts the meaning of emptiness; preserving the meaning of emptiness abandons sentient beings. Well versed in the marks of dharmas, one vacates one's bosom: all day long transforming sentient beings, yet all day long never contradicting emptiness.
