[Seng]zhao says: This explains the conception of dharmas. The various dharmas of the five aggregates provisionally meet to form the body: when it arises, it is merely the various dharmas arising together; when it perishes, it is merely the various dharmas perishing together. There is no separate true controller that masters their arising and perishing. Having eliminated the conception of a self and seeing only the conditionally arisen dharmas, it is therefore called the conception of dharmas. [Dao]sheng says: Arising and perishing are effects. Saying 'merely' means that within the effects there is also no self.
