[Seng]zhao says: The Pure Name's expedient path is boundless, and his concealing and revealing are difficult to fathom. Externally he appears with worldly family and retinue, but internally he takes the Dharma as his family and retinue. Fearing that the confused would see his form without reaching his Path, he therefore raised this inquiry. [Dao]sheng says: Universal Manifestation of Physical Form takes thorough comprehension of the Buddha Path as his manifest trace. He who asks about this matter wishes to clarify this circumstance: there must be a fundamental basis that turns back into the reality of saṃsāra, and thus he can enter everywhere. Therefore, at the conclusion of his response in the Chapter on Precepts, he says that his deeds are boundless.
