3.27

自下第四大眾同見。言「諸菩薩大弟子」等，舉能見人。「昔所未見」，彰化異常。「其室廣」等，正明所見。「其室廣博悉容三萬二千坐」等，明內不小。「於毘耶離及閻浮提亦不迫迮悉見如故」，彰外不大。人聞室廣苞容多坐，謂改舊室令使寬廣方容多坐，故須宣說於毘耶等亦不迫迮悉見如故。

From here below, fourth, the great assembly all see them. The words "the bodhisattvas, great disciples" and so forth bring up the persons who are able to see. "Never seen before" reveals that the transformation was extraordinary. "The room was broad and spacious" and so forth directly clarifies what was seen. "The room was broad and spacious, completely accommodating the thirty-two thousand seats" and so forth clarifies that the interior was not small. "In Vaiśālī and Jambudvīpa it was also not cramped, and all was seen as before" reveals that the exterior was not large. When people hear that the room was broad and accommodated many seats, they might suppose that the old room was modified to make it wide and spacious so as to accommodate the many seats; therefore it had to be proclaimed that in Vaiśālī and so forth it was also not cramped, and all was seen as before.
