4.70

問曰：妄想、假名、言說何異而別說離？妄取之情，說為妄想。相所施名呼召諸法，說為假名。依起言辨說諸法，名為言說。於真本無名之為離，又佛除捨亦名為離。《地持論》中辨真實義亦離此三。

Question: How do deluded conception, provisional designation, and verbal explanation differ, such that they are separately spoken of as being separated from? The sentiment of deluded grasping is spoken of as deluded conception. Applying names to characteristics to designate dharmas is spoken of as provisional designation. Uttering words based on these to explain dharmas is called verbal explanation. Being originally absent in true reality is called separation; furthermore, the Buddha's eliminating and abandoning them is also called separation. In the Bodhisattvabhūmi, the explanation of the real meaning is also free from these three.
