3.156

今明破八倒，用淨名訶迦旃延，破三藏五義，說摩訶衍五義，即結成四枯。故彼諸比丘，心得解脫，一往屬通教意也。

Now, as for clarifying the destruction of the eight inversions, when Vimalakīrti rebuked Kātyāyana, refuting the five meanings of the Tripiṭaka and explaining the five meanings of the Mahāyāna, it concluded in the four witherednesses. Therefore, those monks attained liberation of mind, which tentatively belongs to the intention of the shared teaching.
